On July 29, 2022, a workshop on promotion of eco-industrial park principles was held in the city of Uzhhorod. Our team organized this awareness-raising event within the framework of Global Program for Eco-Industrial Parks (GEIPP Ukraine) in cooperation with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a special agency of the United Nations.
About 40 participants including representatives of industrial parks, management companies and initiators, as well as representatives of regional administrations, local self-government authorities and enterprises took part in the event online and offline.

The main objective of this workshop was to familiarize the guests with advantages of eco-industrial parks, namely: efficiency of resource use and improving economic, environmental and social indicators of enterprises, as well as inclusive and sustainable development. Speakers and participants discussed relevance and development of industrial parks, as well as outlined main conditions for their creation, advantages and priorities of their functioning in the West and South-West of Ukraine.
After the beginning of military conflict on the territory of Ukraine, thousands of production companies that worked in the Eastern region of the country were forced to stop their activities. For reoccupied and affected territories, industrial parks can become a convenient tool for organizing industrial development and resuming the work of enterprises. Sergii Fedorik, KEY Group’s Managing partner, expects that industrial parks will facilitate relocation of industrial enterprises during the war and accelerate recovery of our economy. In future, industrial parks selected by our team will be able to offer turn-key solutions, services and infrastructure for comfortable accommodation of relocating companies.
